Week 67
Day 465
Mount Vernon, WA

We spent fall, slowly catching the peak of the season in Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, DC, and Washington State. Since we missed winter last year on our Southern Hemisphere tour, we’ve been enjoying catching winter as we make our way back from Michigan.
We road tripped from Michigan to Washington via Nashville and Colorado catching some of the first storms of the season in Michigan and the Colorado Rockies.
We paused for a brief moment to catch the sunrise at Arches National park before heading home to Washington for Thanksgiving.
Last year, we spent Thanksgiving under a tree in New Zealand with our buddies Steve and Kevin.
This Thanksgiving was a but more conventional, but given our busy fall, a relaxing weekend at home was just what we needed!
We spent the weekend between my parents house on Big Lake and their cabin on Silverlake playing games, drinking wine, and braving the first freeze of the season to take walks each night!
Thanksgiving day was spent at the Big Lake House with a yummy 3 course gourmet dinner!

Friday, after catching a bit of Black Friday in town, we headed up to the cabin as the snowline fell into the foothills.

Saturday we officially transitioned from Thanksgiving to Christmas by heading to Red Mountain Farms to cut down our Christmas tree.

Winding down Thanksgiving weekend, we started off the day celebrating the first day of Advent with Church at St. Peter’s, a yummy brunch overlooking a half frozen Silverlake, and finally a long walk around the lake before we headed home.

We wrapped up the weekend with Taco Sunday and Sunday Night Football at the Big Lake house. Still high from a huge Thanksgiving win, we’ll take the fantasy loss.

We hope you all had great Thanksgivings wherever you were.
Leave us a message and let us know what you were up to! 🙂
